Mary Gorman

Mary T. Read Gorman, 96, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2023, at the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Gorman. Mary was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Judge Read.

Mary was a volunteer at the North Haven Historical Society and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mary and her late husband, George, spent many happy years researching the family genealogy.

She was the mother of Nancy Gorman, George E. Gorman, and Margaret Libertino and her husband Bertram; grandmother of Kimberly, Jessica, and Nicole Libertino; and great-grandmother of Wakeston, Redding, Nicholas, Nathan, Kyle, and Ciera. She was predeceased by her sister, Laura Moore.

The visiting hours will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Dec. 16, in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
