Frank C. Pecka III

“Beloved father, grandfather, brother & uncle”

Frank C. Pecka III, 88, of North Haven, formerly of Waterbury, was reunited with his wife in heaven on Nov. 6, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Antoinette “Toni” (Buscemi) Pecka of 51 years, who predeceased him in 2016.

Frank was born in Waterbury on May 26, 1935, the son of the late Frank C. and Ada Mae (Worden) Pecka, Jr. Having grown up in Waterbury, Frank was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1953. Upon his graduation, he began his military career, where he served in the United States Navy for 10 years and the U.S. Air Force for a further 26 years. Being a proud veteran, Frank often loved sharing many stories of his military travels and of the life-long friendships he made. For over 30 years, Frank worked for Equifax until his retirement.

Even though he was a Waterbury boy, Frank loved the many years he spent living in Florida, having moved there in 1987 with his wife Toni and returning back to Connecticut in 2000 for only a short two years before returning back because he couldn’t stand the cold. In 2016, Frank moved back to Connecticut and made his home by moving in with his daughter Linda and son-in-law Vinny, something that was special to them all. Frank was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who absolutely adored his family. Frank was a kind and generous man and loved enjoying a glass of his favorite Opici wine. Many who knew Frank could attest that he was an avid reader and a frequent Facebook user who often landed himself in Facebook jail for his staunch Republican opinions.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Linda Mucci and her husband, Vincent of North Haven; his brother, Richard W. Pecka and his wife, Penny of Waterbury; his two grandchildren, Nicole Provencher and her husband, Dan of Southington, Alexander Mucci and his fiancée Rachel Savenelli of North Haven; a great-grandchild, Devin Provencher; a great-grandson Jameson, on the way; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Freda Pecka Roberts.

Frank’s entire family would like to give a special thanks to his caregiver, Maria Prasinou, for all of the amazing love and care that she showed to him over the past few years.

Arrangements: Family and friends are invited to call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Blessed Sacrament Church in Waterbury at 10 a.m. Military honors followed at the conclusion of Mass at Blessed Sacrament. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
