Lynnette Jacobsen Ryan

Lynnette Jacobsen Ryan passed away on Sept. 25 at Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Old Saybrook. Lynnette was born Oct. 30, 1947, to the late Grace and Henry Jacobsen of Guilford, where she was raised, and graduated from Guilford High School.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Ryan, whom she lived happily with for 16 years of marriage in North Haven and stayed active there after his passing. She is also predeceased by her nephew Daniel Sieviec, formally of Guilford. She is survived by her sister, GraceAnne and husband John Sieviec of Guilford; her niece, Holly Sieviec Clough of Middletown; and grandnephews, Aidan and Logan Clough of Middletown, all of whom were recipients of her love.

Before she was no longer able to do so, she was very active in her church community, the senior citizens of North Haven, and the Special Olympics and was involved with the Guilford Agricultural Society for years. Lynnette was a kind and giving person who would do whatever she could for another person. When not participating in many activities, she could be found making crafts to give as gifts to her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her love of collectibles related to cows brought laughter to her family and joy to her. She loved Christmas and holidays, especially Halloween since it was the following day after her birthday! She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her family.

The family would also like to express a special thank you to all at Gladeview who made her life happy and as active as they could during her eight-year-long stay with them there. Their kindness and faithful care are deeply appreciated.

Burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Special Olympics-CT, 2666 State St #1, Hamden, CT 06517, www.soct.org. Arrangements are in care of the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. To share a memory or leave condolences, visit www.guilfordfuneralhome.com.
