Ruth Marie DeGennaro DellaCamera

Ruth Marie DeGennaro DellaCamera, 93, a resident of North Haven for 71 years, ascended into heaven on Sept. 8 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the devoted wife of 63 years to the late Joseph Anthony DellaCamera.

Ruth was born in Derby on Sept. 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Anthony and Antionette Fiorello DeGennaro. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hosting many holidays and Memorial Day picnics. Ruth made every holiday special, but her favorite was Christmas. She has given us many wonderful memories to hold onto.

She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Linda DellaCamera and Joann (Thomas) Ardito, and her beloved grandchildren, Alyssa (Joseph) Juliano and Paul (Georgina) DiSpazio, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in life by her sisters, Rose Baldelli and Mary Conti; her brothers, Pasquale and Carmen DeGennaro; and her niece, Janice Cappetta.

We were all blessed to know and love her. And though there is now a huge hole in our lives that will never be filled until we see her again, we are at peace knowing she finally received the Angel wings that she so deserved.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff, including Dr. Sacco and Dr. Mosley, who took such great care of Ruth. They all went above and beyond to make her last days on earth comfortable and pain-free.

The visiting hours were on Sept. 11 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home. A service followed at the funeral home. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. www.northhavenfuneral.com
