Stanley Neibrief

Stanley Neibrief, 91, died at home on Aug. 18. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on Aug. 8, 1932, Stanley often spoke fondly of living on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn with his Russian Jewish family and attending school at PS 167.

He grew up loving the movies and radio, a love which led him to pursue a career in radio announcing and later weather reporting on Channel 10 News in Albany. Before this career in show business, he majored in English at Brooklyn College and served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955.

He was a beloved father and grandfather, a movie buff with an encyclopedic knowledge of film, a trivia wizard, an excellent joke and storyteller, and a frequent member of the 150 Club at his local YMCA.

Stanley is predeceased by his mother, Ida Lerner Neibrief; his sister, Laura Neibrief; and his best friend, Hanns Schwarz. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Julia and Patricia; his son-in-law, Russell Fuller; and his grandchildren, Emily Fuller and Jesse Fuller, who were the apples of his eyes.
