Anthony Marino

Anthony “Tony” Marino, age 107, passed away on July 3 in Tampa, Florida. He was born Jan. 7, 1916, to Giuseppe and Benedetta Marino in Manhattan, N.Y.C.

He married Tina Palo and had two children, Margaret and Joseph. Tina passed away July 22, 1951, and Tony married Alice Johnson, who passed away Nov. 24, 2022. Survivors include Margaret Shaffer and Joseph (Susan) Marino; four grandchildren: Steve (Kim) Shaffer, Tina (Rick) Davidson, Jeff (Kari) Marino, and Stephanie (Markus) Dickinson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Tony’s was a life well lived. During his 72 years in East Haven, Tony worked as a road surveyor, insurance salesman, and for the town of East Haven as the animal control officer. Tony was the post commander of Post 89 of the American Legion.
