07/13/2023 04:16 PMDebra Marie “Uber Deb” Sagnella, 61, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, surrounded by her family at Yale New Haven Hospital. Debbie was born in New Haven on June 24, 1962, to the late Donald and Carmel Florenzano Sagnella.
At her core, Debbie was a nurturer, playing the role of mother, godmother, caregiver, chauffeur to friends in need, and even chef. Becoming a public figure later in her life known as “Uber Deb,” more of the world got to see her infectious personality and overall kindness.
Debbie is survived by her sister Denise Sagnella; her niece Maria Dohna; best friends, Wanda (Mark Rosa) Candela and Jen Gaetano; godsons, Vinny (Toni) and Jerry (Jen) Esposito and their children, Tyler, Jordan, and Daphne. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Debbie was predeceased by her parents; and sister Donna Dohna.
Relatives and friends held a visitation on July 5 at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home, 425 Main Street. She was laid to rest alongside her parents and sister at All Saints Cemetery.
