Judith Riccitelli


Judith (Young) Riccitelli, 80, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on May 29 at Connecticut Hospice. She was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, to Merriman and Ruth (Manning) Young. Judith is survived by her four loving daughters: Donna Riccitelli of New Haven, Dawn Riccitelli of East Haven, Diane Riccitelli of Branford, and Georgeann Riccitelli of East Haven; along with four grandchildren she adored: Theodore Lipp III, Amber Cowell (Brian), Aaron Jones, and Randee “Buttercup” Chobian; and one great-grandson, Cody Cowell. Judith is also survived by her four siblings: Kathy Riccitelli (Carl) of Florida, Debra White (Jeff) of Branford, Danny Young (Toni) of Madison, and Michael Young (Lorrie) of Vermont. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Struzinski; and brother, John Young.

Judie enjoyed growing African violets, puzzling, playing cards, and listening to music. She loved spending time with family, dear friends, and her fur babies, Mushy and Pumpkin. She was very talented in the fiber arts of cross stitch, knitting, and crocheting. In the 1980s, she co-owned the Branford Yarn Depot. She was part of a group that knitted items to donate to Habitat for Humanity. Judie retired from Herlin Press in 2007, moved to Florida for 15 years, and in 2022, she moved back home to East Haven.

All services are private and under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
