Joseph Peter Falcigno

Joseph Peter “Buster” Falcigno, 84, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on May 17, surrounded by his loving family at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael’s campus. The beloved husband of Marion Eadvito Falcigno, he was born in New Haven to Peter Joseph Falcigno and Josephine Tangredi Falcigno.

As a young man, he was an avid golfer and played basketball and baseball. Like his father, Buster was a barber by trade. He also worked as a printer in Simkins Industries in New Haven until his retirement, when he managed the snack bar at Montowese baseball park for many years.

He loved his family and his home and yard in Montowese, where he cheered for the New York Yankees, UConn women’s basketball and enjoyed following all sports. Buster was a veteran of the Korean War.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Gina Falcigno, Jodi Rooney, Peter Falcigno, and Michael Falcigno; his grandchildren: Ty Joseph Rooney, Emerson Rooney, Nicolas Falcigno, and Luciana Falcigno; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Dennis Gaetano and Arlene and George McKee.

The visiting hours were on May 23 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic parlor service and interment with full military honors followed in All Saints Cemetery.
