Jason William Janecek

Jason William Janecek of Chester, born June 14, 1974, to William and Charlene Janecek, died unexpectedly at home on May 15, 2023. He is survived by his mother, Charlene Janecek; sister, Jennifer Shea; and her husband, Donald; and his brother, Joseph Janecek and his wife, Yvonne. He was the uncle to Ashley and Cheyenne Termini and Maximilian and Magdalana Janecek and great-uncle to Bella Rose Finnemore and Hailey Finnemore. His love for animals that no one wanted led to his most recent addition and sidekick, Tonka, who now is wondering and looking for her master. It was one of many that he took in and saved from the shelter.

Known for his uncanny music capabilities, you could find him jumping in for a set here and there. He loved sitting at home playing his guitar. He loved working the ski slopes in Colorado and lived in California for many years. He had a strong love for his crystals and gems; his collection was endless. Jason was known by all in the community for his carpentry skills, especially his use of wood. He was a master of many handyman activities and was called on often to help with renovations in the community. Everyone knew his demons, but he fought them long and hard to be there for his mother, whom he cherished above all else, and the rest of his family, whom he was determined to protect no matter the cost. Jason may not have considered himself a family man, but family and his mother is all that was important to him. He was a loyal son and brother, and he will be deeply missed.

Private funeral services and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends called on May 19, at the Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Homeward Bound CT, 80 Middlesex Turnpike, Chester, CT 06412.
