He was the husband of Denise Abrams Kovecses. He was the father of Joseph A. Kovecses, Jr. (Monica) of Orlando, Florida, and Kaitlin Kovecses of Winter Haven, Florida. He was the brother of Mark Kovecses of Branford and Laszlo Kovecses (Paula) of Eastport, Maine. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph “Jack” Kovecses, III and Robert Kovecses; his nieces and nephews, Mandy, Ray, Alex, and Jamie; and also his first wife, Deborah Kovecses Weston of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister Zita Kovecses.
Joe was born in New Haven on Oct. 23, 1961, a son of the late Laszlo and Rose Rovaldi Kovecses. He was a Tool and Die maker and worked for Mold Threads in Branford for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
A memorial visitation was held on May 15, at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Burial will be private.
