Darlene (Marshall) Rivellin


Darlene (Marshall) Rivellini, 67, of North Branford, passed away March 25 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born Dec. 24, 1955, in New Haven to James Jr. and Dorothy (Anderson) Marshall.

Darlene is survived by her loving son, Richard Rivellini (Theresa) of Northford, and four cherished grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth, Jason Michael, Tatum Renee, and Waylon Richard Rivellini. Darlene is also survived by her four brothers, James M. Marshall III (Patricia) of North Branford, Dennis Marshall (Cindy) of East Haven, Edward Marshall (Rhonda) of Durham, Ronald Marshall (Jacqui) of East Haven; and three sisters, Sharon Macholl (Thomas) of North Branford, Nancy Kapinos of Middletown, Rhode Island and Jennie Volpe (Michael) of Wallingford; brothers-in-law, Kirk Lovig and Francis Colello; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard Rivellini (2020); and three siblings, Diane Lovig, Patricia Colello, and Larry Marshall.

Darlene was born in New Haven and raised in West Haven, where she graduated from West Haven High School. She moved to North Branford, where she lived with her husband since 1994, and together they raised their only son Ricky, whom they both adored. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, nana, and sister. She had such a special fondness for her ten siblings. Above all, her grandchildren held her heart, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Other than spending time with her family, the casino was her absolute favorite place to be. Darlene will be remembered as a kind and compassionate soul who always put her family and others above herself. She had a big heart and a contagious smile that will be dearly missed.

Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will then leave the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ambrose Parish at the Church of St. Augustine, 30 Caputo Rd., North Branford with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
