Barbara Hesse Jones

On March 2, Barbara Hesse Jones, 86, a longtime resident of Killingworth, passed away at Apple Rehab of Guilford. She was the wife of the late Robert Jones. Mrs. Jones was born in New Haven on Dec. 26, 1936, the daughter of the late John T. Hesse and Evelyn A. (Lucier) Hesse.

She was the sister of Patricia Butler and her husband, the late William F. Butler Sr. of North Haven; the late Mary Louise Rand and her husband, Joseph Rand; and the late John T. Hesse and his wife, Cheryl Hesse. She is also survived by six nieces: Nancy MacGregor, Barbara Childs, Linda Pendleton, Catherine Bader, Christine Humphrey, and Elizabeth Bergh; and a nephew, William Butler, along with nine grandnephews and five grandnieces

Barbara is a 1955 graduate of Hamden High School. Before retirement, she had worked as a supervisor of sales for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for many years. She enjoyed many years of camping with her husband, Rob, and spending time with her sisters and brother.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, in St. Lawrence Church, 7 Hemlock Drive, Killingworth. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145, Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Killingworth Volunteer Fire Department, 333 Route 81, Killingworth, CT 06419.
