Richard W. Cobb Jr.


Richard W. Cobb Jr., 68, of Branford, passed away on Feb. 25.

Richard was born on April 20, 1954, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was a product manager for Ideal Software Systems and the owner of Branford Cleaners. Mr. Cobb graduated from Temple University, started at Fairchild, followed by a career as a software engineer. He was an avid entrepreneur, having owned seven businesses throughout his career. He enjoyed being a member of Yale Aviation, Branford Yacht Club, and the Harley Davidson Club. During his free time, he loved hiking local trails and national parks.

Rich is survived by his beloved partner Angelica Salg and three children, Jackie, Richie, and Arthur. He is also survived by his sister, Maura Steffen, brother-in-law, Richard Steffen, along with his nephew, Connor, and niece, Keira.

Rich was a devoted partner, an inspiring and loving father, and an unstoppable force. He was incredibly thoughtful and made everyone smile with his wit, creativity, and caring nature. He always went the extra mile with work, family, friends, hobbies, and love of wine. He always said, “You have to walk the talk.” He really loved being a dad and was grateful for his family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 3, at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will be private. Please see his online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
