Catherine (Levenduski) Carfora

Catherine (Levenduski) Carfora, 89, of East Haven passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 13. She was born April 22, 1933, in New Haven, to Joseph and Regina (Zwolinska) Levenduski.

Catherine is survived by her devoted children, Louis Carfora, Jr. (Nancy) of St. Petersburg, Florida; Christine Carfora of East Haven, and Lisa Carfora of East Haven. Catherine is also survived by her grandchildren, who she adored, Louis Carfora, III, Nicole Carfora (Anthony Jacobs), and Michael Carfora, along with three great-grandchildren, Louis A. Carfora, Lilly Berntsen, and Aubrey Jacobs. She is survived by her seven siblings, Joseph Levenduski, Dorothy Marinuzzi, Helen Santoro, Frances Riccio, Elizabeth Canna (Joseph), Michael Levenduski (Linda), and Vincent Lewandowski (Mary). Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Carfora (1989); and a brother, John Levenduski.

Catherine was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved taking care of her grandchildren when they were younger. She was always there to babysit or pick them up from school. She was a devoted parishioner going to church at St. Vincent de Paul. She enjoyed going to the casino, hanging out with her two daughters, and having her morning/nightly cup of coffee with them.

Louis and Christine would like to thank their sister, Lisa, for leaving her job and taking care of our mom for the last two years. We “thank you” and “love you.”

Family will receive friends from 8 until 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her procession will then leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
