Marilyn O’Connor Hartman


Marilyn O’Connor Hartman, 84, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late James Robert Hartman. Marilyn was born in New Haven on July 26, 1938, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred DeLucia O’Connor. She was a part of the Montowese Elementary School PTA and helped with her daughters’ Girl Scouts for many years.

Marilyn enjoyed reading and going for walks. She was very involved in the community, always trying to help improve the safety and well-being of the children. When her children were younger, Marilyn’s home was open to all their friends, neighbors, and family. She will be remembered as a very loving person and is going to be missed by all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Laura (Mark) Fonicello, Kathy (Dean) Artusa, Sharon Morris, and James (Joshua) Hartman. Loving grandmother of Angelica and Dean Michael Artusa, Megan and Joseph Fonicello, and Blaise and Nichole Morris. Sister of Noreen Williams. She is also survived by her nephew Jason Williams. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Scott Morris.

The visiting hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday, Feb. 6, in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. www.northhavenfuneral.com.
