William Edward Buice

William Edward “Ed” Buice passed peacefully on Jan. 6. He was born on Aug. 17, 1937, in Greenville, South Carolina.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 40 years, Marie. He also leaves his son Jarrod Buice of West haven; his stepchildren, Yvonne Barron and husband Thomas of Guilford, John Secki of Florida, and Maria Secki of Guilford, and Todd Secki and wife Christine of Killingworth. He also leaves his brother Billy Joe Buice; his sister Marion Buice; and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Frances Buice; his sister Shirley Buice; and his brother Fred Buice, and his son Gregory. He is also predeceased by his great-grandson, Tyler.

Ed loved playing cards with his friends. He was a passionate gardener. And he loved hanging out with his son-in-law Thomas, whom he fondly referred to as Chip (off the old block).

Ed was loved by all his family and friends and he loved them all in return; and they will miss him greatly. As for his wife whom he has known for 70 years, the loss is immeasurable and she will love him always.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, followed by a prayer service at 12 noon.
