Richard Williams


Richard Williams, a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7. He was the husband of Debra (Bodin) Williams. Richard was born on Jan. 26, 1943, in Bridgeport, the son of the late David and Pauline Williams.

He was the father of David Williams of Southbury, Jason Williams and his partner Heidi Schoenfeldt of Madison, and Jennifer Doman and her husband Michael of Madison; brother of Frank Williams and his wife Carmen of Melbourne, Florida, and the late Joan Carroll. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Monica Gregoretti, and Dominick Gregoretti; and four nieces: Susan Carroll-Dwyer, Tammy Williams, Darlene Williams, and the late Leslie Angus.

Richard served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1962 to 1965. Before retirement, Richard was a longtime employee of Bic Pen in Milford. He was the Vice President of Global Manufacturing which entailed traveling all over the world. Richard was an avid hunter and fly fisherman, a hobby he shared with his wife and sons. He was also a talented carpenter who built everything from a deck off his own home to an elaborate treehouse for his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends were invited to visiting hours on Dec. 12, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. A service was held on Dec. 13, at The Guilford Funeral Home with burial in Nut Plains Cemetery, 420 Nut Plains Road, Guilford.
