07/14/2022 10:53 AMPauline Carmel Vergati Sparano, 98, of East Haven entered into rest, in the hands of the Lord, July 11.
She was the wife of the late Peter James Sparano; mother of Paula Sparano (Robert Glassman); sister of Vera, Dolores, Salvatore (Anita) Vergati, Philomena Cognato, the late Katherine Bartiromo, Jennie DaCato, and John Vergati. She is also survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. She was born on Feb. 15, 1924, daughter of the late Salvatore and Alessandrina Eligio Vergati.
Pauline was a seamstress, having graduated from Boardman Trade School. She was best remembered for her work in sales at Casual Corner of New Haven. Pauline was vice president of the East Haven Senior Citizens and was a parent member of the Connecticut Classics Drum and Bugle Corp.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial followed in East Lawn Cemetery. Maresca & Sons Funeral Home, 592 Chapel St., New Haven was in charge of arrangements. Offer condolences at marescafuneralhome.com.
