07/07/2022 12:00 AMLorraine R. Miranda Guglielmo, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on July 1 at the Arden House, Hamden, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late D. Richard Guglielmo. Lorraine was born in New Haven, on Sept. 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Carmen and Margaret Pacelli Miranda.
She had worked as a sewing instructor for New Haven Adult Education. Lorraine and her late husband were very socially active. They were members of the Italian-American Club, the Ridge Road Senior Center and the Jolly Timers. They loved to dance. She was a member of the Red Hatters and volunteered her time for the North Haven Republican Town Committee.
She was the mother of Richard (Barbara) Guglielmo, Sharon (Kenneth) Muro and the late Gary Guglielmo; mother-in-law of Dianne Guglielmo; grandmother of Richard, Gary, Michael and Thomas Guglielmo; great-grandmother of Matthew, Anastasia and Helene Guglielmo. She was predeceased by her sister Marie VanWinkle.
The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. www.northhavenfuneral.com.
