06/29/2022 12:00 AMCatherine Rose Amato Pethick, 80, of North Haven passed away peacefully on June 27 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Richard Pethick, Sr.
Catherine was born in New Haven on Aug. 30, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Lora DeMaio Amato. She had worked in deposit services at the former New Haven Savings Bank for many years. Catherine was a member of the Society of Santa Maria Maddalena. She enjoyed cooking and family gatherings, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved unconditionally.
Loving mother of Walter (Maria) Pethick, Gabriel Pethick, John Pethick, Dr. Mark (Alyssa) Pethick, the late Richard Pethick and Robert Pethick, Sr. Mother-in-Law of Louise Pethick, she is also survived by her 13 beloved grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Amato.
Family and friends are invited at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, to go directly to Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven, to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery.
