East Haven

Richard “Dick” Beedle, Jr., 64, of East Haven, passed away suddenly on June 7, at home. He was born on Jan. 19, 1958, in New Haven to the late Richard Sr. and Emma (Buehler) Beedle. Dick is survived by loving daughter Victoria Beedle of New York and siblings Sherry Johnson (widow of Robert Johnson) of East Haven, Diane Beedle of Florida, Kathi Blanchard of Hamden, and Paul Beedle of Florida. He is also survived by his nephews, Bobby Johnson (Ashlee) of East Haven and Shawn Johnson of East Haven, and one great-nephew, Travis Johnson.

Dick spent 20 years of his life in southwest Florida before coming back to his hometown in 2011. Dick was a bartender by trade and was a staple of the community no matter where he lived. His charisma and warmth was unmatched and would have people laughing wherever he went. He loved spending time with his daughter and family, reading history books, watching football and spending hours in the kitchen cooking the perfect sauce.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven. Burial will be private and all services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven. Donations may be made to the East Haven Food Pantry, 39 Park Place, East Haven CT 06512 in memory of Richard Beedle.
