Guilford

Kathleen “Kathy” Culligan of Guilford died on May 28 in her home. She is the wife of Francis Cullligan and mother to Fran, Bridget, and Frankie. Kathy was born in Bridgeport to Fred and Nora Dubie.

Kathleen worked for the Eversource Organization in Connecticut for more than 30 years. Afterward, she retired and joined her loving husband on adventures traveling before the pandemic occurred. Finally, after the winter holidays, they would drive down to their condo in West Palm Beach, Florida. This is where she relaxed on the beach reading her thrift store books; she read so many, she’d never pay full price for a book. When they came home to Guilford for the summer months, she enjoyed planting flowers and relaxing on her back porch; “best room in the house,” she’d say. Her strong personality and quirky humor will be missed by those who knew her best. Think of her on a new adventure where she’ll be watching over her loved ones and reuniting with family members who have taken the journey before her.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 6, at the Connecticut State Veteran Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Due to the pandemic, flowers can be sent in lieu of a personal visit. Daisies and roses were her favorites. To share a memory or leave condolences, visit www.guilfordfuneralhome.com.
