Robert “RJ” McLoughlin, Jr., 49, of East Haven passed away unexpectedly on May 16. He was born Jan. 5, 1973, in New Haven to Robert J. Sr. and Maureen (Simowski) McLoughlin.

Robert is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Maureen McLoughlin of East Haven, and a sister, Kimberly McLoughlin of East Haven, along with numerous aunts/uncles and cousins.

RJ was born with a green thumb and was always willing to share his talent with anyone he met. He especially loved animals and assisted any in need of his help. He was very kind and helped anyone in need. Robert will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven with committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), East Haven. Donations may be made to the East Haven Animal Shelter, 183 Commerce Street, East Haven CT 06512 in memory of Robert “RJ” McLoughlin, Jr.
