Peter Giacomini, Jr., 84, of East Haven passed away peacefully on April 21 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1937, in New Haven to Pietro and Romilda (Caponera) Giacomini.

Peter is survived by his devoted children, Peter Giacomini III of West Haven, Marlene Stellato (Chris) of North Haven, and John Giacomini of Milford, along with three grandchildren he adored, Nicole Stellato (Drew Felicello), Marcus Stellato, and Gabriella Stellato. He is also survived by his sister, Emma Lipka of Clinton, and his former wife, Joanne (CoFrancesco) Giacomini of West Haven, along with numerous nieces/nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Salverio Giacomini, Mafalda Panza, Antonetta Annunziata, Pauline Pinto, Ida DeFelice, Angelina Nettleton Calandrella, and Josephine DePillo.

Peter was a builder in his younger years, building many homes with his father in East Haven and the Foxon area. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends, especially over the holidays. He enjoyed watching the Mets, football, and driving to the casinos. He would always echo the words of the great Frank Sinatra song “I Did It My Way,” and he did just that.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. Burial will be private.
