Joan (O’Connor) Wareham longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully on March 22 at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven.

She was the wife of the late Simon Wareham and her first husband the late R. Preston Searle.

Joan was born in New Haven on Feb. 24, 1930, daughter of the late Jeremiah O’Connor and Nora Theresa (Kelly) O’Connor.

She is survived by her niece, Sharon Lee of Manchester and George E. Lee of Wyoming. She was predeceased by a sister, Terry Lee

Burial services will be held privately. The family is planning a scattering of ashes on the Kelly Farm in Ireland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forgotten Felines, P.O. Box 734, Clinton, CT 06413. Arrangements are in the care of the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford.
