Lynn (Kozikowski) Gierman, “Koz” to her friends, died at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown on March 11. Born in Manchester on July 1, 1952, she was the daughter of Alexander and Josephine Kozikowski.

Lynn is survived by her sister, Ann Sorensen (Curtis) and nephew Mark Sorensen. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Paul Kozikowski.

Moving from Bolton to Madison, Lynn met her lifelong friends, “The Blavat Battalion,” in junior high.

After graduating with a degree in sociology from Emmanuel College in Boston, Lynn worked in social service agencies in Hartford, and San Francisco, California. She trained in Dallas, Texas to become an international flight attendant. Her work for American Airlines took her to Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Lynn loved music, played the guitar in high school, and continued with banjo lessons in her final years. She had a natural knack for languages and enjoyed peppering her conversations with French and bits of Spanish conversation she learned from her sister, Ann. In retirement Lynn settled into a peaceful life in Killingworth, where she enjoyed the woods and hydrangeas, while dreaming of a garden of daisies.

Loved for her kind heart, Lynn shared her emotions willingly, was quick to cry at sad movies, yet easy with a laugh and a cheering thought. She was the champion of the underdog and always wanted to do the right thing.

Because she cultivated her friendships with a loving heart, Lynn was surrounded by many friends, her sister, brother-in-law, and ex-husband in her final days.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, Killingworth. Lynn was buried with her parents and brother in West Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands Food Pantry, Killingworth.
