Jennifer Copelin passed away on Feb. 15 at the age of 85, surrounded by her immediate family. Born Dec. 6, 1936, in Tsingtao, China, she was raised in England with her beloved nine siblings and her loving parents, Eileen and Harold.

She completed her education and worked in London until she met John Copelin, an American. They were married Jan. 25, 1964, and in that summer moved to New York City, where Jennifer volunteered with literacy organizations working with children. She held a variety of jobs, including a long stint in publishing and an executive position at the Bridgeport Symphony. She retired as the executive director of the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.

Jennifer lived with John in New York City for many years and also in Westport. After retirement, they moved to Madison, where they found a wonderful community, which was filled with many friends and lots of joy. There they enjoyed gardening and spending time at the beach and at the Winter Club. She recently located to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to be near her daughter and family. She had a zest for life and over the years had many hobbies and interests. She loved traveling, spoke Italian, did lovely calligraphy, enjoyed the theater and reading, and above all, delighted in spending time with friends and family sharing her infectious laugh and clever wit.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Stephanie (Mark); and granddaughter, Dahlia. She is also survived by her two brothers, Bill and Tom, and four sisters, Biddy, Sally, Margie, and Denise, as well as many nieces and nephews.
