Guilford

Margaret M. Rosa, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Feb. 26 at her home surrounded by love.

The wife of the late William F. Rosa, Mrs. Rosa was born in New Haven on Nov. 28, 1936, to the late Cornelius and Hilda Roehl. She was the loving mother of Raymond (Mary) Rosa, William (Michele) Rosa, Margaret (Robert) Borden, the late Marlene (William) Tolento, Ronald (Shellie) Rosa, Jacqueline (John) Peters, and Fred (Kerry) Rosa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin, Jeff, Jessica, Nicole, Kendall, Alex, JP, Rosie, Connor, Ally, Mallory, Kaili, and Brandon and great-grandchildren, Clara, Eliana, and Braden. In addition, she leaves her sister Hildegarde D’Amato and many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

In her younger years, “Marge” worked at First National and SNET, and later became a homemaker and mom to many. Her greatest sense of pride and joy was her family. Marge and Bill, who ironically met in a grocery store, celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing. Within those years they raised a large, loving family, proudly owned the former Guilford Food Center, traveled thousands of miles together on road trips and vacations, watched many games and plays together, and celebrated their love with all who knew them.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Marge’s longtime and faithful caregiver, Daedri Williamson, Pastor Volker Heide, and to Connecticut Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at the Lutheran Church of Madison, 9 Britton Lane, Madison. Burial will follow at Alder Brook Cemetery, 375 Boston Street, Guilford.
