Guilford and Killingworth

Louis G. Kresmery, Sr., longtime resident of Guilford and most recently of Killingworth, passed away on Feb. 8 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Lou is survived by Jane, his beloved wife of 64 years. He was born in Stamford on Nov. 29, 1933, son of the late Louis H. Kresmery and Teresa (Edl) Kresmery. He was the loving father of Louis G. Kresmery, Jr., and his wife Kathleen of Sandy Hook and Mark Kresmery and his wife Barbara of Killingworth. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Joseph and Kristen, and three great-grandchildren, Kamren, Olivia, and Cody. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Kresmery.

Lou was a graduate of Stamford High School and RCA Institutes in New York City. In 1954 he entered the U.S. Army and was a radio technician serving at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey and Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Lou was a central office technician and supervisor at Southern New England Telephone until his retirement. After retirement, Lou and his wife Jane became part-time residents of Fort Myers, Florida. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Lou had many interests and hobbies, including traveling, golf, fishing, gardening, and a good card game.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 18, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, followed by a memorial services at noon.
