Clinton and Westbrook

Paul L. Estes, 81, died peacefully at his home in Monroe, New Hampshire, on Jan. 18, surrounded by his loved ones. Paul was born in Franklin, New Hampshire, on Nov. 4, 1940, the son of Irving Estes and Margaret (Johnson) Estes. The family relocated to Connecticut when he was seven years old. He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served four years and traveled throughout Europe.

Paul married and started a family in 1964 after an honorable discharge from the Marines. Paul enjoyed waterskiing, square dancing, playing cards, and rolling skating, which is were met his wife, Janice Robinson. Paul had a successful career with Western Electric (AT&T) for 31 years before retiring.

Paul mentored many teenagers, earned his EMT, and was very active within the community. In 2006, he and his wife moved to Monroe, New Hampshire and he continued to volunteer with the Monroe FAST Squad.

Paul was a man of few words, and everyone knew where they stood with him. He never hesitated to step up, whether helping on camping trips for his girls’ scouting troops, cheering on his girls’ sporting events, teaching CPR, helping his neighbors, or kicking back enjoying football on the weekend.
