East Haven

Giuseppe “Peppino” Patricelli, 75, of East Haven passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 7. He was born Aug. 11, 1946, in Turi, Bari, Italy to the late Antonio and Concetta (Fandetta) Patricelli.

Giuseppe is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maddalena (Riccio) Patricelli, and three daughters, Concetta Sims of East Haven, Gina Eisensmith of Branford, and Tania Patricelli of East Haven, along with two grandchildren, Nicholas Sims and Shawn Eisensmith. Peppino is also survived by his three sisters, Lucia DeSimone of West Haven, Elisa Riccio (Luigi) of New Haven, and Lina Manella, Italy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Giuseppe came to the United States in January 1967 and was married to the love of his life Maddalena in October of the same year.

He worked at Henry Richards in Hamden for several years, then for 25 years at Marlin Firearms of North Haven, from which he retired.

Giuseppe was an exceptional handyman and took great pleasure in home improvement projects. You could always find him in his basement workshop fixing, painting, or building something. He also would always be ready to lend a helping hand when asked. He enjoyed planting his garden with his wife in the spring and summer, jarring tomatoes and making sausage every year. Giuseppe loved their casino day trips, doing his Italian crossword puzzles, and watching the daily Italian game shows.

Family will receive mask wearing friends from 9 to 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven, at which time his funeral procession will leave for a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven with committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
