Madison

Florence L. Brandow, 100, of Madison passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 2. Born in South Fallsburg, New York, on Dec. 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Horace and Effie Bevier Green.

Florence married Floyd Brandow on Sept. 1, 1951, in Hobart, New York. She lived in Upper Montclair, New Jersey for more than 37 years before moving to Madison in 1996. She was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Roxbury, New York, the Union Congregational Church in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, and the First Congregational Church in Madison. Florence received her nursing diploma from Kingston Hospital, New York and served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II as a registered nurse and worked at numerous hospitals.

She is survived by her three children, Susan Brandow-Pribnow of Killingworth, John Brandow of Manhattan, New York, and Peter Brandow of Knoxville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her brother Robert Green of Oneonta, New York. In addition to her husband Floyd, she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Davis.
