Armin “Randy” Hieble, passed away on Dec. 26, 2021.

Randy is survived by a sister Anita Rice of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; a nephew, Todd Rice of Sandwich, Massachusetts, and his children; and a half-brother, Dr. Paul Hieble of Wayne, Pennsylvania.

He was the son of the late Lucy Hieble of Killingworth and the late Dr. Jacob Hieble of Denton, Texas.

In the past, Randy was well known as an auctioneer for local church fairs for more than 30 years. Randy had been a member of the Deep River Fife and Drum Corps for half a century as well as an active member in the VFW. While in the service, he served in the Army.

In past years, Randy and his late wife Doris owned a cat boarding business in North Madison. He was a certified welder and had worked in that area for many years, most recently of more than 32 years at Dwyer Aluminum. Obviously, Randy’s knowledge of working on difficult problems spread, as many years ago he was surprised when someone from the government in Washington, D.C. came to meet with him personally to resolve some specific complicated problems seeking his advice. In past years whenever anyone needed help, Randy was the first to volunteer to help, as was the case when someone needed to borrow money. Randy was knowledgeable in many areas and had many interests. He loved Connecticut and never wanted to leave the area.

There will be no services. Cremation arrangements are being performed by Swan Funeral Home.
