Branford

Carl W. “Bill” Damberg, Sr., of Branford passed away on Dec. 15 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Judy Johnson Damberg. Bill was born in New Haven July 31, 1935, son of the late Carl W. and Abbie Grann Damberg, and was a lifelong resident of Branford. He was a graduate of Branford High School and was an active lifelong member of Tabor Lutheran Church.

Bill was a tool designer for Avco-Lycoming for many years until retiring. He was an avid golfer, and he loved camping with his wife and family.

Besides his wife, Bill is survived by his children, William L. “Bud” Damberg of Old Saybrook, and Leigh-Ann Damberg Bayarsky (Shawn) of Torrington; his grandchildren, Heather, William, Abigail and Sarah Damberg; his great-grandchildren, William, Leah and Milo Damberg; his brother-in-law, Butch (Marianne) Johnson of East Haven; and many nieces, nephewsn and cousins, as well as his beloved dog, Bella.
