Isabella Meder, 105, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, at the Madison House, Madison.

Isabella was born in Kearny, New Jersey, on Oct. 27, 1916, to David Donald and Elizabeth Faichney of Glasgow, Scotland. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph Fredrick Meder; and her two sisters, Mary Donald Paffendorf and Elizabeth Donald Bonath.

Isabella and Joseph moved to Branford in 1986 and purchased their first home together and were enormously proud of that accomplishment after all those years. After Joseph’s passing, Isabella volunteered at the Branford Senior Center in the cafeteria, a perfect fit as she worked for many years in the Prudential’s cafeteria in Newark, New Jersey.

She is survived by her son Donald Meder (predeceased by wife Catherine Dalton) and his partner Fernn Hubbard both of Guilford and a daughter, Diane Harrison (predeceased by husband Leroy Ellis Harrison) of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Darin and David Meder of Guilford, Lisa Sullivan (Joseph) of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, Suzanne Galuppo (Tony) of Hillsboro, New Jersey, and Richard Harrison (Sharon) of Phillipsburg, New Jersey and eight great-grandchildren, Kelly Sullivan; Ashleigh and Kaylee Harrison; Tatum, Natalie, and Blake Meder; and Katie and Bryce Meder.
