Lorraine Constantine Amendola passed away peacefully on Nov. 22. She was the wife of the late Andrew Amendola, to whom she was married for 64 years. She was born in New Haven on Jan. 25, 1930, daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Sagnella Costantini.

She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and the Grace-New Haven School of Nursing. After retiring from nursing, she helped her husband at his business A&M Cash and Carry. Her hobbies included knitting, painting, traveling, playing bocce, and swimming in the ocean.

She is survived by her sons Michael Amendola and his wife Roberta of Rhode Island and Drew Amendola of Georgia and by her daughter Lori Hamilton and her husband John of Branford. Lorraine also leaves her grandchildren, Michael Amendola Jr., and Chiara Amendola and her husband James Spilsbury and Mathew, Kyle, and Mark Hamilton and great-grandchildren, Emilia and Luca Spilsbury. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence Costantini and is survived by her sisters, Barbara Carangelo and Maria Gilcreast.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at St. Vincent de Paul in East Haven. At her family’s request, no flowers please.
