Guilford

Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, Eleanor A. Ruotolo, 99, longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully at Apple Rehabilitation of Guilford.

Eleanor was born in New Haven on Oct. 7, 1922, daughter of the late Charles Monte, Sr. and Anna (Essewein) Monte. She was the loving mother of Kenneth (Carol) of Madison, Stephen Ruotolo of Branford, and Andrew (Lori Leavitt) Ruotolo and Susan (Peter) Casey of Clinton. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Monte Ruotolo and grandchildren Michael Casey and Jennifer Casey and Lauren Ruotolo and Andrew Ruotolo, Jr. Eleanor was predeceased by a brother, Charles Monte, Jr., and grandchild Shawn Casey.

Before retirement, Eleanor worked as a decorator, cook, sitter, party planner, and house cleaner; she was a Jack of all trades. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others, gardens, flowers, anything contemporary, and family gatherings at Waters Edge Resort in Westbrook. Any time spent with her family was very special to her.

Her memorial services were held Nov. 30 at the Guilford Funeral Home followed by burial in Alder Brook Cemetery, Guilford. The family would like to express gratitude for all the kindness and care given by the Doctors, nurses and aides at Apple Rehabilitation.
