Branford

Theresa Ann “Nonnie” Adams, 76, of Branford died on Nov. 22 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved mother of Pamela Fusco (Anthony) and Angela DellaCamera (Bill), both of Branford. She was the sister of Joseph DeStefano (Terri) of Wallingford and Catherine Borelli of East Haven. She was also the proud grandmother to Marissa, Amanda, Vanessa, Billy, and Anthony, who were the light of her life and meant the world to her.

She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her brothers James and Salvatore (Junior) DeStefano, her brother-in-law Edward Borelli, and her nephew Joseph DeStefano II. Theresa was born in New Haven on March 22, 1945, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Theresa Massella DeStefano, and moved to Branford in 1975. She was a CNA at Branford Hills Health Care Center for 35 years. She loved her job and was very devoted to her patients.

Theresa loved being with her grandchildren and they always looked forward to her delicious cooking, funny stories, catalog shopping (“circle what you want”), game nights, movie nights, arts and crafts, her warm hugs, and her many holiday traditions. Nonnie knew how to make the holidays special and was generous to all. She enjoyed her casino trips with friends, stuffed shrimp dinners, sewing, and crocheting. And we all knew not to call her between 2 and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday because she was watching General Hospital!

Mom, no matter where we are or what we are doing, your memories will always keep us smiling. You will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Nov. 29 at St. Mary Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford. Burial followed at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends called prior to the Mass at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford. Please see her online memorial at www.wsclancy.com.
