Douglas P. Montano, 78, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Nov. 25 at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to the late Linda M. Ventriglio Montano. Douglas was born in New Haven on March 22, 1943, the son of the late Pasquale and Angelina Pantaleo Montano.

Doug attended Quinnipiac University and was the owner/operator of Modern Cigarettes, Yale Amusements, and Montano Brothers Amusements for many years until his retirement. Doug enjoyed playing cards and taking frequent trips to the casino.

He was the father of Michelle (John) Pisano and Gina (Darrell) Hackett, grandfather of Angelica (Bryan) Demers and Francesca and John Pisano, and great-grandfather of Dominic and Isabella Demers.

The visiting will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
