North Haven

Myles Allen Melillo, 66, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Nov. 26 at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus with his family by his side. Born in New Haven on Oct. 21, 1955, he was the son of the late Angelo and Josephine R. Meneo Melillo.

Myles worked as an IT field engineer for 45 years. During the four generations of company take-overs, he won numerous awards for his excellent service and retained his position at Oracle up until his death. He was a 1973 North Haven High School graduate, a member of the Tomahawk Club of North Haven, and attended Milford Academy for one year where he continued playing football before obtaining his certification at the New Haven School of Electronics.

He enjoyed Formula 1 Racing, loved Ferraris, and was a Dallas Cowboys and New York Rangers fan. Myles was also known for being one of the only cousins who was taught the Meneo family tradition of hand-tying palm crosses during the Lenten season and giving them to family and friends.

He is survived by siblings Douglas S. Melillo and his wife Joan, Audrey D. Melillo, Raymond J. Melillo, and Darlene L. Melillo; his four-legged, furry pals, Stormy and Zoey; and his companion of 42 years, Patricia McCusker.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 30 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden, followed by committal service in All Saints Cemetery.
