Vincent Hines (NHFD, ret), 84, of East Haven passed away on Oct. 12. He was born on May 5, 1937, in New Haven to John and Mary McKeon) Hines.

Vincent is survived by his son, John Hines (NHFD, ret. and Connecticut State Marshal, ret.) and his wife Donna of New Haven and two grandchildren, Dana Proto (Joseph) and Elizabeth Ann Hines (Jon Young); along with three great-grandchildren, Jonathan “J.J.” Young, Alyssa-Marie Proto (Juan Rodriguez), and Joseph “J.P.” Proto. Vincent is also survived by his brother Walter Hines of Florida and a sister, Josephine Vuolo (Ralph) of New Haven. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne (Ahern) Hines; two sons, Vincent Hines and Joseph Hines; and a sister, Margaret Holland.

Vincent was firefighter with the New Haven Fire Department and retired after 29 years of service and was a member of the Lancraft Fife & Drum Corps in North Haven.

All services are private and under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven.
