Dawn Marie DiGianni, 57, of Clinton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 14, following a challenging two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Dawn was born on July 28, 1964, in New Haven to parents Robert and Patricia Johnson.
She is survived by her loving and extremely supportive husband of 36 years, Raymond DiGianni of Clinton; her daughter Jordan Venezio and her husband Albert Venezio; Dawn’s pride and joy, her grandson Luca Justin Venezio of Walled Lake, Michigan; proud and supportive parents Robert and Patricia Johnson of Clinton; sister Dyanne Johnson and her wife Kristin Maletz and their children Cayden and Ainsley, of Salem; brother David Johnson and his wife Susan Johnson and their children Molly, Zak and Joey of Clinton; and stepson Jason DiGianni and his daughters, Miah and Lacey of Goffstown, New Hampshire, as well as numerous other family members.
She was predeceased by her son Justin DiGianni, stepson Joshua DiGianni, and step-granddaughter Isabella DiGianni.
Dawn graduated from The Morgan School and went onto graduate from Bay Path College. She was a dedicated employee of the Guilford Savings Bank for 24 years where she cultivated long lasting friendships.
A lot like her late son Justin, Dawn had a contagious laugh, drawing you into laugh right alongside her. In conjunction for caring for her own disease, she delivered the strength to put Justin’s needs always ahead of hers. She always said, “I’d walk through fire for my kids,” and she did! Her character was built on selfless acts that go beyond strength measure. Putting her needs secondary as she was first a loving daughter, devoted wife, powerful mother, and a new grandmother with a guiding force to show her family what love truly is.
Dawn’s goodness, her caring, and her wise wisdom will live on as a legacy of love that will be with everyone she touched.
Calling hours for Dawn will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton.
