Richard “Rick” Swanson, 56, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, formerly of East Haven, passed away on Sept. 16, after a short battle with COVID-19.

Rick grew up in East Haven and attended East Haven High School. He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, but nothing compared to the love he had for his daughter. He was a superintendent for Cannatelli Builders.

Rick is survived by his daughter Katelyn and her mother Lynn Swanson; stepdaughter Michelle Koscielak; stepson Tyler Smith; father Edward (Joan); brothers Eddie, Kevin (Debi), and Todd (Carolyn); stepsister Randee (George) Vasilakos; stepbrother Neil Bernstein; several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren; and an abundance of extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Vivian.
