Paul Michael “Uncle Mike” Malcarne, 75, the beloved husband of Cathy (Hartman) Malcarne, passed away the morning of Oct. 8 with Cathy at his side at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven. Mike was born in Middletown on Oct. 3, 1946, the son of Leno and Florence (Bangs) Malcarne.

Mike was a test technician at Connecticut Light & Power Company for more than 30 years prior to his retirement. Besides his wife Cathy, Mike leaves his sons Paul Malcarne, Jr., and his wife Lara of East Berlin and Brian Malcarne and his wife Alisha of York, Pennsylvania, and his beloved grandchildren Joshua, Brendan, Cameron, Coleman, Emelia, and Cora. He also leaves his sisters Sally Stebbins and Penny Grote, both of Deep River; his brother John Malcarne of Utah; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street in Deep River. The rendering of full military honors will follow the service on the grounds of the church.
