North Haven

Eileen M. Anderson Coppola, 91, of Cheshire, formerly of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Joseph Coppola.

Eileen was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on Feb. 23, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret Corcoran Anderson. She was a 1947 graduate of West Haven High School.

Eileen had worked as a pediatric nurse and more recently as a special education aide at ACES in North Haven until her retirement. But the role that she cherished most was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. He grandkids lovingly referred to her as “Meme” and Eileen would always keep a stash of candy, chips, and ice cream sandwiches on hand for their visits! She enjoyed hosting many family gatherings at her home in North Haven and especially loved a good old-fashioned family sing-along. She made life events more fun and life itself more beautiful.

She was the mother of Patricia Schwartz (Mark) and Karen Bogli (Todd) and grandmother of Robert Schwartz (Samantha), Jennifer Schwartz, and Stephen and Mathew Bogli. She was predeceased by two sisters.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at noon Saturday, Oct. 9, to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in the All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, has been entrusted with the arrangements. For her online obituary, please visit www.northhavenfuneral.com.
