Westbrook

Paul Hotkowski, 75, of Westbrook, died unexpectedly in his home on Sept. 30.

He was born on March 7, 1946, in Middletown to Albert Hotkowski and Julia Sepkowski Hotkowski, both deceased. Paul grew up in Deep River but spent the last two decades of his life in Westbrook.

Paul is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna DeLano Hotkowski. The lights of his life were his three children, Paul John and his wife Ellen of Westbrook and Nicholas and Kaitlyn of Westbrook.

He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Emily and Jonathan, both of Westbrook, as well as his brother, Peter Hotkowski and wife Susan. Paul will also live on through several nieces and nephews who have fond memories of Uncle Paul letting them get away with things.

Paul’s good-natured humor made him a popular guy—strangers became friends easily. His favorite hobby was attending his “meetings” of local men sitting around garages, shooting the breeze about politics, family, and life. He loved drag racing and met many friends over the years who shared his love for fast cars and cold beer. His presence will be missed by everyone’s whose life he touched.

Visitation was held on Oct. 4, at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook. A graveside service was held on Oct. 5 in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Chester.
