Branford

Carol Ann Duell, a lifelong Branford resident, passed away peacefully at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Sept. 20.

She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Duell. She was the mother of Debra Cole (Michael) of Branford, Scott Duell (Marjorie) of Branford, and Jeffrey Duell of North Branford. She was the grandmother of Michael Cole, Jr., and Alyssa Cole Warner (Kurt) and is survived by her great-grandchildren, Austin and Harrison Warner. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Ericson Fletcher.

Carol was born in New Haven on July 3, 1929, a daughter of Carl and Mary Alex Ericson. She worked for First Bank in Branford, beginning as a teller in 1964, and eventually became the branch manager/officer at the Branford Main Street location.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford. Burial of her urn will follow at Tabor Cemetery in Branford. There will be no calling hours. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Community Dining Room, 30 Harrison Avenue, Branford, CT 06405, or to St. John Bosco Parish, 731 Main Street, Branford, CT 06405.
