Ruth M. (DeSenti) Welch, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Sept. 18 at Guilford House. She was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Welch. Ruth was born in New Haven on Feb. 4, 1929, daughter of the late Louis DeSenti and Martha (Klein) DeSenti.

Ruth is survived by her extended family of Godchildren and their families Peter (Rose) Ciardiello of Guilford and Richard (Lyssette) Ciardiello of Guilford, several nieces, and many close friends. She is also predeceased by a brother, William DeSenti.

Ruth received her bachelor’s degree from Albertus Magnus College. She worked as a real estate agent for more than 30 years for various agencies, including H. Pearce Realty, Sotheby’s, and Coldwell Banker. She enjoyed crocheting scarfs, handbags, and blankets for family and friends. Ruth also enjoyed her casino trips with her husband Bob and their friends.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, followed with a burial service at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
