Branford

Andrew T. Dwyer of Branford died on Sept. 14 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. Andrew was born in Branford on April 14, 1937, son of the late George and Rose Piscitello Dwyer.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the foreman at Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company for many years until retiring. Andrew played the fife in the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps and the Ancient Mariners Drum Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman, belonging to the Killingworth Sportsmen’s Club and the Guilford Sportsmen’s Club.

Andrew is survived by his companion of many years, Betsie Dougherty of Branford; his brothers George and Robert Dwyer (Joy Sperrazza) of Branford; his sister Anna Bagley of Branford; and many nieces and nephews. A brother Edward Dwyer, predeceased him.

USMC funeral honors were given Sept. 20 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford. Burial was private. For his online memorial, see www.wsclancy.com.
